How to report anti-social behaviour

Report noise, harassment, vandalism, or other anti-social behaviour so the community team can investigate and take action.

  1. Step 1: Make sure everyone is safe

    If someone is in immediate danger, a crime is in progress, or there is a threat to life, call 999 now.

    This guide is for reporting non-emergency anti-social behaviour. For urgent police matters that aren't life-threatening, call 101.

  2. Step 2: Gather the details

    A clear report helps us act quickly. Before you submit, note down:

    • What happened and where • The date and time (or times, if ongoing) • Who was involved, if known • Any photos, videos, or other evidence

    You can report anonymously, but leaving your contact details helps us follow up.

  3. Step 3: Submit an online report

    Use the council's anti-social behaviour reporting form to submit your report. Fill in the details you gathered and attach any evidence. The form guides you through each section.

  4. Step 4: Note your reference number

    After submitting, you'll see a confirmation screen with a reference number. Make a note of it — you'll need it if you want to add information or check progress later.

  5. Step 5: What happens next

    The community safety team reviews every report, usually within three working days. Depending on the situation, they may contact you for more detail, keep a log of repeated incidents, or work with the police and other agencies.
